Discovery Call

Bookkeeping services for Miami businesses

A bookkeeper who has never seen your business sorts transactions by guesswork. Our accountants start the other way around. They learn how your Miami business earns and spends money, and only then set up the books to match.

What monthly bookkeeping covers

Your bookkeeper sets up your accounts and chart of accounts, or migrates them from your current system. After that, the monthly work is bank and credit card reconciliation, recording income and expenses, tracking fixed assets and depreciation, payroll accounting, and keeping receivables and payables current.

The output is financial statements, a cash flow view with forecasting, and reports built around the numbers you actually look at. See the full bookkeeping and accounting service.

What a Florida business's books have to support

Each of these filings is built from the monthly books.

Florida sales and use tax

Businesses must register each location to collect, report and pay sales tax. Filing frequency depends on the tax collected: more than $1,000 a year is monthly, $501 to $1,000 quarterly, $101 to $500 semiannual, and $100 or less annual. Returns are due on the 1st and late after the 20th of the month following each period, and a return is required for every period, even if no tax is due. County discretionary sales surtax

Many Florida counties add a discretionary sales surtax that generally applies to most taxable sales, based on where the item or service is delivered. The rates are listed in Form DR-15DSS, which is updated each year in November. Source: Florida Department of Revenue, sales and use tax.
